WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
During this 10-day intensive workshop with Matt Jones, learning will focus on developing the skills to be able to rapidly draw from a model in very short poses – 30 seconds to 3 minutes maximum.
So that, each student exercises that brain muscle which will allow them to draw poses with character and story expressively and clearly, which are, for example, the key components of storyboard drawing.

PREREQUISITE
Basic human anatomy & proportions knowledge and some drawing experience.
REQUESTED MATERIAL
* sketchbooks for note-taking, exercices and street drawing
* larger sketchbook or paper for in-class drawing
* drawing board
* charcoal
* fat marker pens
* TOMBOW brush pens (Matt’s secret weapon!)
THE TEACHER
Matt Jones is a story artist who has been working in the animation industry for 25 years. Writer, director, animator, storyboard artist,… he has worked on numerous projects (Across the Spiderverse, Chicken Run 2, Inside Out,…) and for many studios such as Aardman, Pixar, Sony, Netflix,…
He is also the author of numerous books about drawing.

- Simplification of forms, find the weight, short-cuts, graphic symbols, anatomical land-marks. Expressing emotion.
