WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
In this intensive 10-day workshop with Mike Mattesi, learn to escape the monotony of stiff, lifeless drawings and unleash the dynamic, breathtaking essence of life in your drawings.
Immerse yourself in the art of visual rhythm, discover the pulsating energy of the human form and master the art of capturing this vitality on the page.
During this intensive course you’ll be given the basics of the FORCE line, laying solid foundations. We will study :
– the types of FORCES and their impact on the figure.
– how to identify the FORCES on the model, where are the FORCES and how do they work?
– how to draw and connect them to generate rhythms.
After this course, you’ll have the tools to draw more dynamic figures and present figure rhythms.

PRE-REQUISITE
Basic human anatomy & proportions knowledge and some drawing experience.
REQUESTED MATERIAL
* Paper: In the US we use Smooth Newsprint. Happens to be the same paper we use for when you more your stuff. Paper used to wrap around dishes and alasses. What is important here in case France does note specifically have this is that it is SMOOTH and cheap! : )

THE TEACHER

Michael Mattesi contributed his skills as a professional artist over thirty years on numerous award-winning projects in varied capacities in animated film, advertising, video games, comics and art education.
He collaborated with Pixar, Walt Disney Feature Animation, Walt Disney Consumer Products, Marvel Comics, Hasbro Toys, ABC, Microsoft, Electronic Arts, DreamWorks/PDI, Zynga, The School of Visual Arts, AnimSchool, Beijing University, Art Center, Scuola Internazionale di Comics, San Jose State University, The Academy of Art University, Nickelodeon, LeapFrog and many others. Michael’s students occupy all fields of the art industry and have themselves gained prestige for their abilities.
Simultaneously, Michael Mattesi has authored six FORCE books, published in numerous languages, utilized around the world to inspire and educate artists on the concept of FORCE. He has instructed FORCE Drawing for over twenty five years and inspired thousands of artists.
