19th CENTURY ACADEMIC DRAWING ● RAMÓN HURTADO

Come and learn how to draw the human figure.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Come and study human figure drawing with Ramón Hurtado during a 2-week intensive course in Paris.

The focus of the class is to learn to draw the figure as an integrated whole, where all the elements work together, rather than as separate parts.
We’ll pay careful attention to the large movement, character and construction of the figure, and learn how to add relevant details, without destroying the feeling of unity in our work.
We’ll cover how to measure, how to think in 3d, how to use anatomy, how to plan values and how to use accents, in both long and short drawings, using line, tone or both.
We’ll start by drawing plaster busts in the studio, then complete figures at the Louvre*. In the second week, we’ll work with the live model in poses ranging from 2 to 8 hours.

(*Museum entrance fee not included)
