WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Understanding architecture is a powerful tool for developing believable environments and compelling stories.
During this workshop, you’ll learn to analyze and create the fundamental building blocks of architectural environments.
You’ll learn to simplify complex designs to better understand the form, proportions, and layout of key elements.
You’ll explore fundamental principles of composition and graphic design, which make it easier to capture environments on the page.
By studying specific types of buildings throughout Paris, you’ll also develop an understanding of the characteristics that define various architectural styles (Medieval, Classical, and Baroque).

PRE-REQUISITE
Have a solid foundation in drawing.
REQUESTED MATERIAL
* 2B, 4B, and 6B pencils
* a large Koh-I-Noor pencil or one of a similar size
* Muji .38, .5, or .7 pens, or Bic pens (optional)
* sketchbook for study and research (7 x 10 inches or smaller)
* sketchbook for outdoor drawing (A3 size or larger)
* notebook for taking notes (recommended)
THE TEACHER

Gabriel Yeganyan is a freelance concept artist who is currently working for Lucasfilm on their live-action Star Wars projects. Gabriel has previously worked for Respawn Entertainment on “Jedi: Fallen Order,” Section Studios, Riot Games, Infinity Ward, Sony Santa Monica, and HBO.
He also teaches at Concept Design Academy in Los Angeles.
